When considering what fabric to use for your window treatments, we suggest you stop and survey the room the treatments are to be used in. First and foremost you want to choose a color that is compatible and blends well with the rest of the décor in the room.
If you have a room that has a lot of patterns and prints in it, you may want to use a solid color for your window treatments or you may want to consider a valance that uses two fabrics. It’s acceptable to have a few different patterns or prints in a room, especially when they are in the same color group, but adding too many can make the room appear cluttered. You could use a solid for the main face fabric and a print fabric for the contrast. You could do the same with our rod pocket panels also using a solid color for the panels and have the tiebacks made in a contrasting fabric. This will give your treatments a little pizzazz and may help give balance to the rest of the room.
If your room is mostly solid colors then you could add some flare to the room by adding window treatments made in a beautiful print fabric. To really liven the room up you can again use a valance that combines two fabrics, you could try using a floral on the main face fabric and a striped fabric as a contrast. And don’t forget you can always add a pair of matching or contrasting curtain panels to go underneath the valance for even more pattern.
Today you will find window treatments, table accessories and pillows made using a vast array of decorative beaded trims, fringes and tassels. Everywhere you look you will see the new trend. Decorators today love adding embellishments to decor to give a room more texture and ambiance. Many of our products give you the option of adding trims and tassels should you appreciate the decorative look they offer.
To pull a room together, we suggest having decorative pillows made to coordinate with your window treatments. You can have them made in the main fabric that you used on the window treatment or try having them fabricated using the contrasting fabric of your valance if you choose a style that offers two fabrics. Either way it will give your room a special finishing touch.
